Rehabilitation

At Jovimed we offer rehabilitation programs designed to help in recovering from an orthopedic injury, illness, and other problems such as stroke and neurological conditions.

Physiotherapeutic Methodology

PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation)

PNF is a comprehensive method of neuromuscular priming, developed in the 1940s by H. Kabatt and M. Knott in Vallejo (California, USA), constantly developed and recognized as extremely effective in the treatment of patients with various etiologies of dysfunction. He directs his attention to the human being as a whole, and through the positive approach and active participation of the patient in therapy, he aims to achieve the highest functional level. It consists in applying the principles of motor control and teaching and repeating exercises in a different context, with a modified degree of difficulty of their execution

Classic Spine Massage

Massage is conscious and elastic deformation of tissues. It aims to accelerate blood flow and stimulate the body to produce endorphins, otherwise known as "happiness hormones." It effectively reduces stress and fatigue after a hard day's work and is recommended for people who suffer from back pain caused by prolonged stress or a sedentary lifestyle

Manual Therapy

It is a modern concept of examining and treating a patient, where special emphasis is placed on the diagnosis and treatment of structural disorders of the musculoskeletal system (joints, muscles, and nerves). The therapy focuses on restoring the "physiological balance" between the musculoskeletal system's structures, where the cause of the ailments often lies in the disproportion between the tissue's ability to bear the load
and their real burden. Treatment includes joint mobilization techniques and soft tissue therapy, and the neuro mobilization of nerve structures. A valuable supplement is functional medical training adapted to the type and severity of the dysfunction and Kinesiotaping.

Manual therapy is used in the treatment of diseases such as:
• limb amputations
• degenerative disease of the spine and peripheral joints
• dysfunction of the intervertebral disc
• previous surgical procedures within the musculoskeletal system (fractures, arthroplasty)
• soft tissue damage (muscles, peripheral nerves)
• posture defects

Adult Bobath

This is a concept of research and treatment of people suffering from neurological diseases. The methodology, developed in 1940 by B. and K Bobath, is based on scientific research in the field of neurophysiology and the principles of motor learning. It is a modern approach to solving patient problems related to function, movement, and postural control due to damage to the central nervous system. The Bobath concept places particular emphasis on introducing different movement experiences to the patient in order to achieve efficient movements of the torso and limbs, both global and selective.

Neurophysiological methods are used in the treatment of diseases such as:
• Parkinson's disease
• multiple sclerosis (MS)
• ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
• craniocerebral injuries
• spinal cord injuries
• injuries of peripheral nerves
